Tuetano Taqueria began in 2014 as a humble home kitchen, delivering birria to locals and catering special events. Word spread fast especially through Chula Vista’s brewery scene – where Tuetano’s bold flavors made a name for itself. By 2018, demand had grown so strong that Tuetano opened its first brick and mortar location in San Ysidro. it was here, during the height of the pandemic, that the taqueria earned Michelin recognition proof that craft and care could shine even in tough times. But the post – COVID economy hit hard, especially near the border. In 2021, Tuetano relocated to Old Town, then ultimately returned to its roots in Chula vista, focusing solely on catering where it all began. at its core, tuetano taqueria is about precision, flavor, and technique. Every taco is built to leave a lasting impression one that stays with you long after the last bite.
